Cybercoins' Bust and Seated Dimes, the world's neighborhood coin shop.

Liberty Seated Type Dimes were produced from 1837 to 1891. Like some other designs, this one was used for several different denominations such as the Half Dime, Quarter Dollar, Half Dollar and Dollar. It was designed by Christian Gobrecht and has five major varieties. They are the “No Stars Obverse” (1837-38), the “Stars Obverse” (1838-53), the “Arrows at Date” (1853-55), the “Legend Obverse” (1860-73 and again 1875-91) and the “Heavier Weight, Arrows at Date” (1873-74).

Good reference works for those more interested in this type of coin are “The Complete Encyclopedia of U.S. and Colonial Coins” by Walter Breen and “The Encyclopedia of United States Liberty Deated Dimes 1837-1891” by Kamal M Ahwash.
