These offerings may seem unrelated to our main business but they have a direct link. Many of the newspapers have the early tax stamps printed on them, such as the one that helped cause our American Revolution. Some have fantastic articles on coins, including some early articles on the collecting of coins. Some were printed by people like Benjamin Franklin, who also printed currency. They have a strong relationship. But we admit that they are just fun as well. This is the “CD-ROM” or video of its day. It allows us to “hear” the words of George Washington and Lord North and 100 other people talking about problems big and small -- not as history interprets them, but with the actual words themselves; what historians call “primary research material.” How can you not get excited about something like that? For the man or woman who has everything, here is something else-- 200-year-old events written about when they were still “news.”
