Certified or slabbed services such as PCGS, NGC, ANACS, SEGS, GSA, PCI, ACCUGRADE, etc. were established to take the subjectivity out of coin collecting and allow people with little knowledge of coins to purchase them with confidence. However noble, it would be a mistake to only rely on what the plastic says. Education is the best way to buy coins. Learning how to grade coins yourself is important.
We do not endorse any one of the grading services, but there are some that are considered better than others. NGC and PCGS are generally considered the "best" services. We have dealt with SEGS as well and find them to be on par with the best.
