Barber (or Liberty Head) Dimes are named for their designer,
Charles A. Barber. They were made from 1892 to 1916. Like some other
series, the design was also used on other denominations like the
Quarter Dollar and Half Dollar. Pleasing in its appearance, it has
long been a favorite of collectors around the world.
A good reference work for those more interested in this type of coin
is The Complete Encyclopedia of U.S. and Colonial Coins
by Walter Breen.
